Although no information is given by Lyrita, it is likely that the recording location and team for Symphony No.7 is the same as for Symphony No.1.

It is extraordinary that this very fine recording has never been issued on CD nor for digital download. Apparently RCA made a bit of a mess of both LP issues with off-centre spindal holes. This excellent rip was made by Lani Spahr for another forum and is posted here with his kind permission.

There is a 3-page account of the recording session by Lewis Foreman in his book "Recording British Music". If anybody should have a copy of the book, I would appreciate a PDF of those pages.

Symphony No.4:
01 - 03 Symphony No.4 (1930) [40'25]

For those requiring something in more up-to-date stereo for Symphony No.4, here is the David Lloyd-Jones recording.

Symphony No.4:
01 Overture to a Picaresque Comedy (1930) [9'09]
02 Nympholept. Tone Poem (1912) [16'02]
03 - 05 Symphony No.4 (1930) [39'28]

Royal Scottish National Orchestra conducted by David Lloyd-Jones

Naxos 8.555343   [recorded August 2000; issued 2002]

[digital-download; flacs, cover, inlay and booklet scans]
Recording venue: Henry Wood Hall, Glasgow, Scotland
Recording engineer and Producer: Tim Handley

There was no obvious candidate for the Fourth Symphony. Of the three complete sets, the Chandos Vernon Handley is already here on MIMIC in Tubarec's post, the Chandos Bryden Thomson frequently just too slow, leaving the Naxos David Lloyd-Jones with this pretty good performance. But oh for a Norman Del Mar. Lyrita were said to be considering recording Symphonies 3 and 4 missing from their catalogue but nothing has happened so far.

Symphony No.6:
01 - 03 Symphony No.6 (1934) * [39'32]
04 Irish Landscape (1913) ^ [7'28]
05 Rogue's Comedy Overture (1936) [10'54]
06 Overture to Adventure (1937) [9'28]
07 Overture: Work in Progress (1943) [8'18]

New Philharmonia Orchestra conducted by Norman Del Mar*; Royal Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Vernon Handley

Lyrita SRCD296   [recorded July 1966*, April 1976^ and January 1994; issued 2007]

[CD-rip; flacs, cover, inlay and booklet scans]
Recording venues: Kingsway Hall*^ and Watford Town Hall, London.
Recording engineers: Gordon Parry*, Kenneth Wilkinson^ and Trygg Tryggvason.
Producers: David Harvey*, James Walker^ and Oliver Rivers.

Of the three complete sets of Bax Symphonies, the Chandos Vernon Handley is already here on MIMIC in Tubarec's post, the Chandos Bryden Thomson is frequently just too slow for my taste and the Naxos David Lloyd-Jones has generally pretty good performances. But oh how I wish there were more recordings by Norman Del Mar. Lyrita were said to be considering filling the gap in their catalogue by recording Symphonies 3 and 4 but nothing has happened so far.

Tintagel & Northern Ballads; Bantock- Pagan Symphony:
01 Tintagel. Symphonic Poem (1919) ^ [14'19]
02 Northern Ballad No.2 (1934) * [15'31]
03 Northern Ballad No.3. Prelude for a Solemn Occasion (1933) * [7'41]
Granville Bantock: Pagan Symphony (1928) [36'32]
