Here's an excellent and, as far as I know, unique collection of French music for clarinet and piano. The sound quality is also very fine, even from the CD layer. Although the sleeve notes include a whole page of guff extolling the virtues of DSD over even 192kHz 24bit recording - something I feel sure many audio engineers will take issue with.
Nevertheless, it's a fine album of well-known and less well-known fare with particularly beautiful playing from Florent Heau. Anybody who has enjoyed this disc should also enjoy the pair's recording of the Brahms Clarinet Sonatas which can be downloaded from Odeon's blog.
