Here's a fine twofer of popular chamber works by Dvorak and Saint-Saens in expert performances by The Nash Ensemble - brilliant and wonderfully polished. Ian Brown and Christopher van Kampen are outstanding in the Dvorak Quintet.
This performance of Carnival of the Animals is particularly vivacious and sparkling with Ian Brown being joined by Susan Tomes, from the Florestan Trio, as the piano duo.
The recording offers a natural concert hall acoustic with the veteran engineer Trygg Tryggvason working his usual magic.
