Better-known as a chamber music player (her recording of the Mendelssohn First and Smetana Piano Trios with Trio Pro Arte is particularly fine, also here on MIMIC), Elisabeth Westenholz also made a few orchestral recordings. Although billed as a series "Ludwig van Beethoven: The Complete Works for Piano and Orchestra", unfortunately it appears that BIS pulled the plug after only these two issues. An uncharacteristic error of judgement by Robert von Bahr. As a makeweight, here is the earlier issue of two Mozart concertos in recordings by the same team.
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart:
01 - 03 Piano Concerto No. 20 in D minor, K.466 [32'00]
04 - 06 Piano Concerto No. 23 in A major, K.488 [27'33]
Elisabeth Westenholz- piano, Collegium Musicum, Copenhagen conducted by Michael Schønwandt
BIS CD283 [recorded March 1984; issued 1984]
