Manchester-born teacher, trumpeter, conductor and composer - no relation to, and not to be confused with, George Butterworth. And here is the only recording of his Fifth Symphony fittingly conducted by the composer. As far as I know, there are still no recordings at all of his Third, Sixth and Seventh Symphonies:
