For anybody who caught the British music concert conducted by Andrew Manze at this year's Proms, here is one of the very few recordings of the Welsh composer Grace William's once quite popular (in the UK at least) Sea Sketches. One of those Lyrita CDs that have not made it to digital download - possibly due to contractual reasons with the original recording companies. This CD rip was kindly made available by MIMIC friend Joseph.
To complement David Atherton's excellent recording, here is the only other recording that I have seen of Sea Sketches. I'm not sure how this disc of music for string orchestra gets its name of Sea Sketches. It appears that only Grace William's work in this selection by Roy Goodman has anything to do with the sea. The "Four Ws" might have been more appropriate.
