Here's an attractive short collection of a number of Holst's most popular works, again recorded in the favourite acoustic of St Augustine's. Holst was a long-time music teacher at St Paul's Girls School near Brook Green in Hammersmith and the Brook Green Suite was written for their junior orchestra.

At this stage of his career, Menuhin was a rather more accomplished conductor than violinist and he serves up lively and affectionate performances. The flute and oboe soloists are particularly fine in the Fugal Concerto. I see that this CD is currently trading on Amazon for $90.00!
