[CD-rip; flacs, cover, inlay and booklet scans]

Grieg and Liszt Concertos recorded at Free Trade Hall, Manchester on 23 - 24 August 1956.
Recording engineer: Robert Fine; Producer: Wilma Cozart.

Recording details for the other works are not given.

Richard Farrell (1926-58) was probably New Zealand's finest pianist. Like other contemporaneous pianists, Dinu Lipatti, Noel Mewton-Wood and William Kapell, he died tragically young. And like Dennis Brain, he died in a traffic accident on an English road.

Atoll's Wayne Laird licensed these recordings from EMI in the UK. All were made for Pye-Nixa (later taken over by EMI) and most were only issued originally in mono. The two piano concertos, recorded by a famous team from Mercury did receive an issue in stereo in the USA on the Mercury label and there was a short-lived CD release on EMI's punning Phoenixa label. The Brahms recordings are here receiving their first stereo release.
