In 1984, EMI compiled Sir Adrian Boult's recordings of the nine Vaughan Williams symphonies (recorded 1967-71) into a LP box set; offered here is a rip of that set. The LP recordings are quite transparent with excellent soundstage definition and tremendous dynamic range. In 2000, EMI offered the recordings as a CD boxset, but the digital transfer was cloudy and dull. Unfortunately, the 2013 Warner reissue is no better.
Given the exceptional quality of the LPs, I have ripped them at 96 kHz, 24 bit resolution. In addition to the symphonies, there are two fillers: the overture to "The Wasps" and the Norfolk Rhapsody No. 1. Individual FLAC files. Booklet scan included.
