These fine recordings from the now defunct Conifer label (now seemingly owned by BMG) have appeared in both the Decca 2006 'Malcolm Arnold Edition Vol.3' and the Sony 2016  'Sir Malcolm Arnold: The Complete Conifer Recordings' sets. But frequently download files of the third movement of the Philharmonic Concerto are truncated. Here, all of the files are complete. Most of the other recordings included in the Sony set are already here on MIMIC in their original releases, mostly in posts by friend Kolya.

Although this disc includes many of Arnold's lighter works, the more sombre and gritty music such as the Symphony for Strings, Philharmonic Concerto and Peterloo Overture is also well represented.
