Vaughan Williams - The Haitink Cycle (Originals)

The accomplished composer from Gloucestershire will hardly go down in the history of music as an innovator, yet, his symphonic work is masterfully crafted and well worth our attention.

Of the few complete recordings available, I've always liked Haitink's endeavour best, as the great Dutch Maestro does not indulge too much in the Englishness of this music, thereby elevating its quality and calibre to gain a broader and diverse audience.

This cycle, recorded over a period of 15 years and later remastered and re-issued by EMI as a box-set, is here offered in its individual original and untouched CD releases.
