With the hype over the 'Markle & Spencer' wedding now beginning to subside, it seemed appropriate to review an earlier era of pomp and circumstance.

Charles Groves was in his element conducting this music and this 'bare bones' issue from EMI draws together recordings made in 1971 and 1977.  Philip Ledger contributes the two additional items in fine style (both recorded in 1969).
