23. Der Tane der sieben Schleier 'The Dance of the Seven Veils' from Salome, op.54* [9'26]

City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra conducted by Andris Nelsons

ORFEO C 833111A (recorded 28 January & 3 February and 10 & 11 November* 2010; CD issued 2011)

(CD rip; flacs, cover, booklet and inlay scans)

Recording venue: Symphony Hall, Birmingham
Recording engineers: Eleanor Walton and Tim Oldham; Producers: Phil Rowlands & Tim Oldham

Another of Orfeo's series of recordings made during Andris Nelsons' tenure as chief conductor of the CBSO from 2008 until 2015. This was one of three issues of Strauss tone poems that they made; not my rip, thanks to the original uploader.

As with their Tchaikovsky series, the City of Birmingham orchestra offer world-class playing under their then dynamic principal conductor and the sound quality is spectacular (the booklet with this CD reveals those responsible unlike the digital downloads which provided no notes at all).
